1. Reliable block merge & split — backspace at the start of a block merges it into the one above; pressing return splits cleanly. Block types and ids stay stable through the edit.
2. Safer multi-block deletes — selecting text across several blocks and deleting now keeps the rest of the page intact instead of corrupting content across block boundaries.
3. Inserted blocks stay put — AI rewrites, live transcripts, images, and code blocks inserted into a note are no longer dropped if you keep typing right after; the editor now tells your edits apart from programmatic inserts.
4. Cleaner reading view — the bottom toolbar now shows only in edit mode (when a text block is focused) and hides when you're just reading, on touch and with a hardware keyboard.
