Get ready to study for Ohio's passenger-vehicle permit knowledge test.
Ohio Permit Prep: BMV provides 100 original practice questions across eight focused topics: permit and licensing basics; signals; signs and pavement markings; right-of-way and school buses; speed, lanes and turns; sharing the road, railroads and parking; impairment, lighting and restraints; and safe driving and emergencies.
Read the explanation after each question and follow specific Ohio BMV, Ohio law and road-safety references. Four original sign illustrations support visual study. Choose your topics and question counts, practice with optional timing, resume an unfinished quiz and track progress on your device.
All study questions and the guide work offline on iPhone and iPad. Source websites open in your browser and require internet. No account, subscription, advertising or AI tutor.
Ohio's agency is the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Its ordinary knowledge test has 40 multiple-choice questions and requires 75% correct. Vision screening, permit issuance, training and driving/skills tests are separate requirements. The guide explains TIPIC terminology and current age-pathway differences, including the ages 18–20 training and supervised-practice requirements.
This is a selective practice aid, not a complete official test simulation, driver-training course or replacement for the full Ohio Driver Manual. It does not cover every sign, legal exception, penalty, insurance or document situation, and does not cover CDL, motorcycle or moped exams. Practice scores do not issue a permit or license or guarantee a passing result. Always confirm current requirements with Ohio BMV.
