Metal Map helps you scan, mark, and map magnetic anomalies around walls, floors, and objects using your iPhone’s built-in magnetic field sensor.

Designed for renovation planning, DIY projects, and quick inspection tasks, Metal Map combines a real-time magnetic signal graph, AR heat spots, room mapping, and PDF export into one clean scanning workflow.

HOW IT WORKS

Metal Map does not “see” metal directly. Instead, it reads changes in the surrounding magnetic field using the iPhone magnetometer. Ferromagnetic metals such as iron and steel can create measurable magnetic anomalies, which may appear as signal peaks while scanning.

The app first asks you to calibrate the local magnetic background. Then it filters sensor noise, tracks signal changes, and displays the result as a live radar-style graph.

MAIN FEATURES

REAL-TIME MAGNETIC SCANNER
View magnetic field changes as a live signal graph. When the field changes, the scanner reacts with color, sound, and haptic feedback.

AR HEATMAP POINTS
Use the camera to place visual heat spots on walls or surfaces while scanning. Save detected points directly into your room scan.

ROOM MAP
Mark room corners, save scan points, and view a simplified top-down room map with detected magnetic locations.

PDF EXPORT
Export your room map as a clean PDF report for future renovation work, drilling planning, or documentation.

CALIBRATION FLOW
Calibrate the local magnetic background before scanning to reduce false signals and improve consistency.

HAPTIC AND AUDIO FEEDBACK
Use vibration and radar-like sound feedback to scan without constantly looking at the screen.

METAL AND WIRE FOCUS MODES
Switch between general magnetic anomaly scanning and wire-focused scanning behavior. Powered electrical lines may appear as pulsing magnetic signals depending on current load, distance, and wall material.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

Metal Map mainly detects ferromagnetic metals such as iron and steel. Copper, aluminum, plastic pipes, and unpowered wires may not be visible to the magnetometer.

Possible electrical source detection is only an estimate based on magnetic field behavior. Metal Map is not a certified electrical tester, stud finder, safety device, or professional inspection instrument.

Always use proper certified tools before drilling, cutting, or performing electrical work.

Metal Map Premium unlocks advanced scanning tools, AR heatmap points, room map saving, and PDF export.

Subscription options may include weekly, monthly, and yearly plans. The yearly plan may include a 3-day free trial depending on App Store eligibility.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.

- Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto- renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Automatic renewals will cost the same price you were originally charged for the subscription.
- Manage or cancel your subscription from your user settings in the App Store at any time after purchasing.
- Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription.
