Wear your Apple Watch and go to sleep. When you wake up, Notturno is already there, without you touching anything: how long you slept, how well, and how much you have in the tank today.
THE NIGHT LANDSCAPE
Your sleep stages drawn across time: the lower the band, the deeper the sleep. Awakenings are physiological — everyone has them, especially between one cycle and the next — and orange shows when they happened. Drag your finger across it and read what was happening at any hour.
THE NIGHT SCORE
0 to 100, built on four factors — duration, regularity, efficiency, architecture — weighted on the scientific literature rather than on a hunch. Tap the number and see exactly what drove it, factor by factor, with your own figures alongside. And if it changes after you have already been told, the app says so, and says why.
RECOVERY
A second index that looks forward instead of back: how much you have in the tank today. It brings together your recent nights, how far your heart rate drops while you sleep, how much your heart rate variability rises, and how much sleep you owe. Inside it is your real regularity too, measured the way the research measures it: not the average of your bedtimes, but how much your days resemble each other.
You don't need a new Watch: Recovery is built from your heartbeat and its variability while you sleep — sensors your Apple Watch already has, whatever the model.
LINKS YOU WOULDN'T SPOT
Nineteen rules look through your data for the things the eye misses: the workout too close to bedtime that stretches how long you take to fall asleep, the more active day that brings more deep sleep, the vital sign outside your usual range, the run of nights you went to bed on time, your personal best. They speak only when they have something to say, and each one shows its reasoning with your own numbers in front of you.
ON YOUR WRIST, AT A GLANCE
The Apple Watch app stands on its own: your night, the seven-day trend and the morning check-in. Widgets and complic…
