YFPI Go

YFPI Go is a field-ready resource for professionals who work with youth firesetting prevention and intervention (YFPI) cases, built on the Vision 20/20 Project's YFPI framework and grounded in National Fire Academy curriculum.

Developed for fire service prevention personnel, behavioral health professionals, and the multidisciplinary teams who screen, intervene with, and follow up on youth firesetting behavior, YFPI Go puts core protocols and reference material in your pocket during casework.

FOUR CORE TOOLS

Initial Response — Step-by-step guidance for the first response to a youth firesetting incident, useful to prevention staff and to fire chiefs or operations personnel who need immediate direction.

Getting Started Guide — An orientation to the YFPI process for teams building or refreshing a youth firesetting intervention program.

Foundational Components and Toolkit — Reference material covering intake, intervention strategies, behavioral disorder considerations, and follow-up procedures.

YFPI Field Guide — Built for offline use, with accordion-style navigation covering intake, intervention, follow-up, and a behavioral disorders reference, so the material is available even without a signal.

SPARK, YOUR YFPI ASSISTANT

YFPI Go includes Spark, an AI assistant trained on YFPI typologies, risk and protective factors, brief motivational interviewing technique, and mandatory reporting basics. Spark carries a firm guardrail: it will not answer mental health questions directly, and instead directs you to consult a licensed mental health professional. Spark is a reference aid, not a substitute for professional judgment, and the app reminds users never to enter personally identifiable information about youth into the chat.

BUILT FOR THE FIELD

YFPI Go was developed by SOAR Consulting Group in partnership with the Vision 20/20 Project, a project of the Institution of Fire Engineers, with support from the FEMA Fire Prevention & Safety Grant program. The app uses anonymous, aggregate analytics only; no personal information is collected from users.
