Most quit apps ask you to stop on a date and then count the days. Halfstep asks what you buy, and builds a schedule that steps you down from it — one step at a time, over weeks, ending on a quit date you can see from day one.

WHAT IT DOES

• A daily target, counting down. Not a diary you fill in afterwards — a number that starts your day and goes down as you log.

• Built from what you actually buy. Pods, disposables, refillable tanks with a bottle size and a strength, or pouches by the tin. Halfstep works the daily figure out from your purchase, not from a guess about how much you inhale.

• Log in one tap, without opening the app. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Control Center, the Action Button, or Siri.

• A craving timer. 4-7-8 breathing that keeps running on your Lock Screen, so you can put the phone face down and just breathe.

• A nightly check-in that repairs the day. Lost count? Say so. Went over? Halfstep records what happened and carries on. Nothing resets.

• Stay on a step, any time. Bad week? Stay where you are. Your quit date moves; every day you have already logged stays exactly where it is.

• Money, only once it is real. Halfstep shows zero and the date your saving starts, rather than an encouraging number that is not true yet.

• Not sure what you use? Spend a week measuring. Halfstep logs without a plan, then builds one from what it actually saw.

• It keeps working after your quit date. A slip is something you log, not a streak you break.

PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION

No account. No server. No third-party code, no analytics, no trackers. Your log lives on your device and in your own iCloud private database, which nobody else can read. If you write down why you are doing this, that sentence is kept separately, at a stricter protection level, and you decide where — or whether — it ever appears on screen. Everything can be exported as a file, or deleted, from Settings.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

It does not convert what you buy into cigarettes, into milligrams absorbed, or into claims about your body. It has no streaks to break. It does not shame you on a bad day, and it will not show you a number it cannot defend.
