Markio opens a Markdown file the way an image opens: instantly, already drawn — diagrams, formulas, terminal colour included. No spinner, no loading pass, no browser engine warming up behind the window. Keep as many documents open as you like; every window stays responsive and updates the moment its file changes, without losing your place.
There is no web engine anywhere in the app. Markio typesets Markdown itself, straight from the bytes of your file, and only the lines you can actually see are ever typeset — so a 32 MB document opens as fast as an 8 KB note, and scrolling through it feels the same.
ALWAYS LIVE
Leave a file open while another app rewrites it, and the view reloads exactly where you were reading. Paste a terminal log and it keeps its colours — the sixteen basics, the 256-colour cube, true colour. A diff block reads as added and removed bands.
SEE WHAT CHANGED
Compare the document against an older version of itself: what it gained on a green band, what it lost on a red one, in the same window — or side by side, the old version in its own column, scrolling together. When a document you have already read gets rewritten, this is the only part you need.
TABLES YOU CAN USE
Click a heading to sort by that column. Type in the filter row to keep only matching records. Numbers sort as numbers, columns keep their alignment, and the Markdown file on disk never changes.
DIAGRAMS DRAWN, NOT EMBEDDED
Mermaid flowcharts, sequence diagrams, state machines, class and entity-relationship diagrams, mindmaps, timelines, user journeys, Gantt and quadrant charts, git graphs, kanban boards, Sankey diagrams, treemaps, C4 and architecture diagrams, radar, block, packet and xy charts — all drawn with real paths and glyphs, offline, with no diagram library anywhere in the app. Click one to see it large over the window, or right-click it to copy it as a PNG.
FORMULAS WITH REAL GLYPHS
