New Mexico Water Watch is an interpretation-first water app for New Mexico. It goes beyond raw numbers to explain the direction, speed, historical context, and consequence behind the data.
- Statewide map covering reservoirs, groundwater, rivers, drought, and snowpack
- A weekly "What's happening?" story briefing
- Plain-English feature pages that answer "What does this mean?"
- A timeline slider from 1990 to 2026 for storage, aquifers, drought, and policy milestones
- The acequias: the community ditches this state still governs by elected mayordomo, centuries old and written into law, and what has happened to the river they draw from
- Every measurement is labeled provisional, reported, modeled, reviewed, or sample data, so you always know how solid the evidence is
A measurement establishes a measurement, not a cause, this app is built to be precise about what the data actually shows.
One price. No subscriptions. No ads. No B.S. and Your location never leaves your device.
Ask is new. Ask a question about the water in plain English and get an answer at once, built only from the readings, stories and outlooks this app is showing. On devices with Apple Intelligence, a plainer-English version streams in underneath, with every figure checked against the readings. The News tab now shows a progress indicator while it loads, and there are a few small fixes.
