My Girlfriend lives far from me, and checking her weather every time I had to search the location since I also have to see mine.
For a long time I had two weather apps on my phone and I still never knew if she was awake. I'd send "good morning" at what turned out to be 3am for her. So I built the app I actually wanted, and it's been on my home screen every day since.
OurSky puts both cities on one screen. Your temperature, theirs, and the distance sitting in between.
BOTH SKIES, ONE GLANCE
Your weather and theirs on the same card, always. Hourly for both. Five days for both.
Rain, wind, air quality, dew point, pressure, UV, gusts, every number doubled up so nothing is ever only about you. Tap any card and it opens all the way into charts and detail.
WHERE THEY ARE IN THEIR DAY
Two sun arcs, side by side, showing exactly how far into the day each of you is. The app reads the gap and tells you what it means. "Your stars, their sunshine." "Both under the sun right now." And when your two sunsets land within fifteen minutes of each other, "watching the same sunset."
It'll tell you when golden hour starts in their city, so you can text them to go outside and look.
There's a moon arc too, with the phase, moonrise and moonset for both places. The moon is the one thing that's genuinely the same for both of you.
KNOWING WHEN TO REACH OUT
If it starts storming where they are, a button appears that sends them a message about it. Snow gets a different one. Freezing gets a different one again. You're not going to be checking their forecast at 2pm on a Tuesday. The app is.
Turn on a morning report and get one notification with both forecasts, at whatever hour you choose. Some people set it to their partner's morning instead of their own.
There's also an alert for when your two cities end up under the same conditions, because "it's raining on both of us right now" is a text worth sending.
