Protego for Reddit

Add a keyword, a community, a user, or a domain, and matching posts quietly disappear from your feed. Protego is a Safari extension with a companion app, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro.

WHY THE BROWSER:
Reddit belongs in your browser. The official app is built to keep you scrolling; in Safari, you decide what Reddit shows you. No notifications pulling you back, no "get the app" walls, and no Reddit app collecting in the background.

FILTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE:
- Keywords - Hide posts whose title, body, or community name matches a word or phrase
- Communities - Hide everything from a community, or block its page entirely
- Users - Hide one person's posts and comments
- Domains - Hide posts linking to a particular site
- Social Media - Hide posts linking to X, Instagram, TikTok, and more
Keywords go further: * matches a word and its variations, # matches any 1 to 3 digit number, and groups switch a whole set on or off at once. Any filter switches off without deleting it.
See it working: Reveal Mode outlines every post a filter would hide instead of hiding it, and Preview tries a keyword before you save it.
Not sure what to filter? On a device with Apple Intelligence, pick a topic or type a word, and Protego suggests real terms to add.

SET UP IN ONE TAP:
Pick a preset (Off, Minimal, Balanced, or Focused) and Protego applies a recommended set of options, bringing new Reddit closer to the old one. Fine-tune anything afterward.

CLEAR AWAY THE CLUTTER:
- Hide thumbnails, avatars, flair, badges, vote controls, award and join buttons, community banners, and pinned highlight cards
- Hide recommendations, promoted posts, login and app nudges, and Reddit Answers
- Collapse or hide comments carrying media, and the moderator comment pinned to the top of a thread

MAKE REDDIT EASIER TO USE:
- Share a post, or a comment with the thread above it, as an image instead of a screenshot
- Color-code comment threads by reply depth, with four themes to pick from
- Jump between comments by reply depth, and return to the top of a thread
- Open comment pages with every reply chain folded away
- Open posts from a feed in a new tab, keeping your place
- Land on old Reddit automatically, with an endless feed
- Give old Reddit the dark theme it has never had, and drop communities' custom styling

PUT REDDIT OUT OF REACH:
Filtering hides what you do not want to see. Limits goes further and blocks Reddit itself, a step at a time: Home and Popular, then all main feeds, then everything but direct links to posts, then all of Reddit. Pair a limit with a Focus like Sleep or Study and it turns itself on.

PRIVACY:
No account, no tracking, no browsing history collected. Your filter lists stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. Keyword suggestions run on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which stores nothing and never receives your lists.

Protego filters text: post titles, bodies, community and author names, and link addresses. It cannot read words inside images or videos. Filtered posts are hidden from your view. Nothing is removed from Reddit, and nobody is notified.
