RNI Health

RNI Health App is designed and developed by the neuroscientists, engineers, and researchers at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) and Innovation Center which is a signature program at West Virginia University and WVU Medicine. RNI is the premier multidisciplinary institute for patient care, research, and teaching in West Virginia and the region.
The all new RNI Health App provides a holistic approach of exchanging information with the participants and patients who are enrolled with RNI for various problems, programs, studies, and research protocols such as Addiction, Chronic Pain, Cognitive Disorders, Epilepsy, Headache, Human Performance, Movement Disorders, Neuromodulation, Neuro-Oncology, Spine, Stroke, and many more.
Primary purpose of the Health App is to connect with the users who are participants of a research study in understanding and finding the underlying causes of certain illnesses. These studies and research protocols are approved by WVU’s Institutional Review Board and compliance teams.
Health App Features:
Ability for participants to record and share important lifestyle factors such as sleep, diet, physical activities, and stress
Ability to record and share health information such as mood, symptoms, temperature, and answer survey questions

Ability to notify participants and remind to complete any pending tasks
Ability for participants to engage in cognitive task
Consent:
Participation and enrollment in the study or programs is completely voluntary. All the participants who are enrolled in the study will have to first review and consent with the terms and conditions as shared by Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute(RNI). The consent is shared externally using the electronic means where users will sign and submit if they are volunteering to participate. Participants at anytime can discontinue from the study, uninstall the app, and stop sharing the information.
Data:
Data is shared with Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute which is critical for research analytics.

This app could also use Remote Notifications, and Background Processes to Push Notifications to Users.
