Caliu - A notes app

Caliu is a Markdown note-taking app for writers. There are no fancy decorations, no obstructive toolbars, and no pop-ups urging you to upgrade. Just a quiet blank space, the words you write, and a way to retrieve those words later.

It runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Mac and syncs with the web version on web.caliuapp.com. It fully supports offline use: notes are first stored on your device and synced out only when there is an internet connection.

- Write in Markdown and see the results as you type. Headings, lists, quotes, code blocks, links - they take shape as soon as you type them. There is no preview panel and no need to switch modes. The interface steps aside and makes way for the writing itself.
- Use tags instead of folders. They can be nested, colored, and searched. You can add as many tags to a note as you like. This is the organizing method that follows your train of thought.
- Never miss a reminder. Set a time for any note, and Caliu will gently remind you on all your devices. Leave those things that are easy to forget once written to it.
- Don't worry about syncing. Start writing on your Mac, take out your phone and continue. The note will be there. There is no sync button, no spinning wheel, no waiting.
- Themes you'll want to stay with. Ten color schemes, light and dark, each paired with a set of three fonts for the interface, body text, and code respectively. Pick one that catches your eye and change it when your mood changes.
- Link notes to each other. Link notes like connecting ideas. Caliu will keep track of who points to whom, and the web in your mind remains clearly visible.
- Export and share, and the data is always in your hands. Any note can be exported as Markdown, plain text, HTML, ePub, or RTF. Need to show it to someone else? Generate a public link and send it out. The notes are yours, and nothing can lock you in.
- For those who like to tinker. Caliu provides a complete REST API and also has an MCP server built-in. You can connect Claude, Cursor, your own written scripts, or anything else you want to build. A type of note that can be called with code.
- Carefully crafted. Caliu is a small and independent project. It doesn't track users and doesn't force AI features in just for a press release. It's just a tool that you can use every day.
