Sky Tonight is a brand-new astronomy application for exploring the sky. It can help stargazers answer three of the most common questions:
⁕ What is that bright spot in the sky?
⁕ What astronomical events can I see tonight?
⁕ How do I find the celestial objects I'm interested in?
Sky Tonight is made by the developers of the Star Walk application. It is a customizable stargazing tool designed for observers with different needs and desires. You can adjust the appearance of constellations, set reminders for any astronomical event, explore unique trajectories relative to the observer, set brightness limits to filter space objects, and so on.
Features of Sky Tonight:
◆ Point your phone at the sky and see the real-time positions of space objects on an interactive sky map.
◆ Activate the time machine feature to see the positions of celestial objects at different times.
◆ Use the augmented reality mode and watch the sky map overlaid on the camera image of your device.
◆ Get information about any celestial object by clicking on its name.
◆ Keep up with the latest news in the world of astronomy through the stargazing news section.
◆ Turn on the night mode to make your celestial observations at night more comfortable.
◆ Filter the objects that appear on the sky map according to their brightness levels.
◆ Adjust the brightness of celestial objects on the screen.
◆ Discover dozens of star clusters along with the official constellations.
◆ Adjust the visible constellations and customize their representation on the screen.
Unique features:
► Trajectory relative to the observer
The app shows not only the trajectories of celestial objects relative to the center of the Earth in the celestial sphere, but also their trajectories relative to the observer. Long-press on a celestial object's trajectory to move the object to a selected point. While holding the touch, move your finger along the trajectory to change the time.
► Flexible search:
Take advantage of the convenient search function: quickly find the celestial objects you're interested in and easily browse different types of celestial objects and events. Look for "stars", "moons of Mars", "Mars conjunction", "solar eclipse", and the app will show you all the relevant objects, events, and articles!
The search section also has "Popular" and "Recent" categories. The "Popular" category shows the most popular celestial objects, events, or news; the "Recent" category contains the celestial objects you've selected recently.
► Fully customizable event reminders
Set reminders for astronomical events at any time and date so as not to miss the solar eclipses, full moons, star and planet configurations, etc. that you're interested in.
► Astronomical calendar with stargazing index and weather forecast
Use the astronomical event calendar, including moon phases, meteor showers, solar eclipses, oppositions, conjunctions, and other exciting events. Find out what astronomical events will occur this month or see what was happening in the sky a year ago!
Check the stargazing index: It is calculated based on the moon phase, light pollution, cloud cover, and the visibility time of objects. The higher the index, the better the observing conditions.
You no longer need multiple apps for stargazing planning; Sky Tonight contains all the information you need.
Premium access
* The app includes paid premium access. Get premium access to use Sky Tonight without restrictions! Without a subscription, you won't be able to see most of the interface items in sections like "Visible Tonight", the calendar, and search. So, you're limited in planning and enhancing your observations. Premium access will allow you to unlock all interface items and make full use of all the features of the app. Ads will also be removed so as not to disturb your stargazing experience.
