Plixa Quest puts a hex dump on your screen and teaches you to read it.

Every file is just bytes arranged in a grid — sixteen columns wide, memory addresses in the gutter, parsed fields highlighted in callout tags. Tap any byte region and the Inspection Bench explodes it outward: leader-lines whip to margin annotations naming each field, its byte range, its parsed value, and why the byte order matters. Flip the endianness switch the wrong way and the app surfaces exactly what breaks — a hands-on lesson no textbook delivers as cleanly.

The Format Atlas documents 80 binary containers — PNG, ZIP, ELF, PE/COFF, Mach-O, TLS, PCAP, SQLite, MP4, X.509, and more — with full structural breakdowns and field tables. The Drills ladder walks you from magic-number identification through length-prefix discipline, endianness recognition, chunk navigation, CRC validation, and container archaeology. Two long-form Field Reports go deeper still: the Heartbleed TLS heartbeat bytes traced through the exact OpenSSL code path that missed a bounds check, and the PNG/ZIP polyglot — a single byte stream that is simultaneously a valid image and a valid archive.

Pin any annotated cross-section to the Plates shelf, replay it as an animated walk-through, or export it as a card image to share. Three switchable engineering-diagram themes — Datasheet, Blueprint, and Vellum — keep every screen sharp at a desk or on a terminal. Plixa Quest is for developers, security engineers, CTF players, and students who want to stop treating binary files as black boxes.
