IS Supersää

Supersää shows two competing forecasts side by side. The forecasts come from the Finnish Meteorological Institute and Foreca. You can decide yourself which one you believe – or is the truth somewhere inbetween.

In the new Supersää you can now add your favourite places and see the weather for all your favourites on one page. The app also has a larger rain map and warnings for your location and your favourites. The app has support for dark mode and it can be used in English, Finnish, or Swedish.

HOURLY FORECAST

Check the hourly forecast, temperature and wind for the next 24 hours. The current forecast also includes the “feels like temperature” which takes into account how the wind affects the temperature.

9-DAY FORECAST

The 9-day forecast includes the minimum and maximum temperatures for each day, the weather type, wind speed, probability of rain, and the amount of rain.

DARK MODE

Supersää uses dark mode if it has been enabled in the operating system settings.

FAVOURITES

You can add for instance your grandma’s, your work place, or a holiday location to quickly check the forecast for your favourite places.

WEATHER WARNINGS

You can see many different types of weather warnings, like storm warnings and forest fire warnings for your location or the places that you have added to the favourites.

RAIN MAPS

You can see rain observations and forecasts on the map for Finland. You can zoom the rain map and move the timeline to the time that you want to see.

WEATHER WIDGET

Get the latest weather forecast right on your home screen by adding weather widgets.

POLLEN FORECAST

The app shows the pollen forecast for places in Finland.

FEATURES THAT THE APP USES

● Location

Get the most accurate weather forecast, local weather warnings and see where you are on the rain map with positioning. You can enable positioning from the settings if you want to use it. If you allow the use of your location, the content of IS Supersää and other Sanoma services and ads can be based on information derived from the position of your device and the places that you have visited before.

If you add a weather widget on the home screen and if you want the widget to show the weather forecast for your location, you need to give the app the permission to access your location even when the app is closed or not in use. When the app is closed, we are only using the location data for updating the weather forecast in the widget.
