Paranoia gives you a Paranoia Score for the companies and apps you already use - a 0-100 number, higher meaning more private, produced by a published, weighted rubric you can read in full inside the app.

Every score is our editorial opinion, not a legal or regulatory finding. Every claim behind a score links to a primary source - free to open on the files of public officials, and with Paranoia Plus everywhere else.

New in this version: CITY, a full map of ALPR cameras and city surveillance programs near you. A free FOR YOU carousel on Home surfaces companies tied to what you already watch, alongside a Recently Added rail of the newest files. Every card opens the file behind it. Nothing in it is picked by tracking you.

Browse instantly, even offline. Paranoia ships with a bundled data snapshot and syncs updates quietly in the background. Watch companies to track them and share a company's file card with anyone.

Paranoia Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription, available annually with a 3-day free trial, or monthly. It unlocks every claim's source link and full ownership chains on company and app files (source links on public officials' files stay free for everyone), the Top Rated category lists (every category ranked from the highest Paranoia Score down), recommended alternatives on every company page, and unlimited alerts - everyone gets 3 alert slots for free, and Plus removes that cap. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and can be managed in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Data comes from public and licensed sources - companies' own policies and disclosures, App Store privacy labels, ToS;DR (CC BY-SA), PrivacySpy (CC BY), Privacy Guides (www.privacyguides.org, CC BY-SA), Wikidata (CC0), SEC and FTC filings, state regulator records, Have I Been Pwned, and self-run Blacklight scans. Never a purchased dataset.

Accounts are optional - browsing and search work fully without one, and there are still no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Sign in with Apple, Google, or a passwordless email link to sync your watchlist across devices and use the referral program; watching a company or official stores a push token and the entities you watch on our server once notifications are enabled, with or without an account, and is not linked to your identity unless you sign in. Entries saved before this update, or left listed after a lapsed Plus subscription trimmed your watches back to three, stay device-local until you tap the eye to watch them fully. Subscriptions are processed by Apple; purchase data is handled as described in our App Privacy answers and privacy policy.
