Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite

This application uses the internal sensors of smartphones to collect, display, record, and export.csv data files. The availability, precision, and accuracy of the sensors depend on the hardware of the smartphone.

Sensors, generators, and data analysis tools include the following:

Kinetics

• Gravimeter - Ratio of Fn/Fg (x, y, z axes and/or total)

• Linear accelerometer - Acceleration (x, y, and/or z axes)

• Gyroscope - Angular velocity (x, y, and/or z axes)

• Inclinometer - Azimuth, roll, pitch

• Motion visualization tool - Calculate position and velocity via LiDAR

Acoustics

• Sound intensity meter - Sound intensity

• Pitch detector - Frequency and pitch

• Pitch generator - Sound frequency producer

• Oscilloscope - Waveform and relative amplitude

• Spectrum analyzer - Graphical FFT

Optics

• Color detector - Detect HEX colors within a small rectangular area on the screen via the camera

• Color generator – R/G/B/Y/C/M, white, and custom color screens

• Proximity meter - Periodic motion and timer (timing and pendulum modes)

Magnetics

• Compass - Magnetic field direction

• Magnetometer - Magnetic field strength (x, y, z axes and/or total)

• Magna-AR - Augmented reality visualization of magnetic field vectors

Other

• Barometer - Atmospheric pressure

• GPS - Latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, direction, number of satellites

• Multiple recording - Select one or more of the above sensors to collect data simultaneously.
