The Kangxi Dictionary Professional Edition is the first to be led by commercial name-giving services, redefining and designing name-giving tools. It integrates various factors such as the San Cai Wu Ge score, Yi Xuan nameology score, the preferences and taboos of zodiac signs and radical components, as well as the preferences of the eight characters of birth date and the five elements. It also allows the choice of whether the name source is from Tang and Song poems, greatly facilitating the work of naming.
The Kangxi Dictionary is a book published during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, written by Zhang Yushu, Chen Tingjing, etc. It was revised and supplemented on the basis of two books, Zi Hui by Mei Yingzuo in the Ming Dynasty and Zheng Zi Tong by Zhang Zilie. The compilation of this book started in the 49th year of Kangxi, that is, 1710 AD, and was completed in the 55th year of Kangxi, that is, 1716 AD, taking six years, so the book is named the Kangxi Dictionary.
The Kangxi Dictionary was presided over by the chief editors Zhang Yushu and Chen Tingjing, and jointly completed by the compilers Ling Shaowen, Shi Kui, Zhou Qiwei, Chen Shiru, etc. The dictionary uses the radical classification method, arranging single characters by strokes. The whole dictionary is divided into twelve volumes, marked with the twelve Earthly Branches. Each volume is further divided into three volumes, upper, middle, and lower. The rhyme table and its corresponding Chinese characters are classified and arranged according to rhymes, tones, and syllables, with a total of 47,035 Chinese characters collected, making it one of the main reference books for the study of Chinese characters.
