All leading personnel in the oil and gas industry working in drilling operations are generally required to hold a valid WELL CONTROL certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years and approved under the statues of either IADC or IWCF. This Application covers the topics taught on these courses. The application is not a substitute for this certification but is a valuable and easy access tool when preparing for the course-week leading up to the exam. Furthermore, the application is also a handy lookup tool when checking all the various rules, regulations, procedures, specification and tables relating to Well Control.
The practices section are divided into approx. 17 different categories, covering different topics as Procedures and Practices and the various Equipment used in well control. Following the questions and answer options are Images, Hints and Help to further aid in the learning process. Of particular good learning aid is the Help section that explains or discusses many of the problems step-by-step. As the candidate feels proficient and ready, he/she will enter the Exam part, which picks random questions from the different subjects in the Practice sessions. Statistics will be generated based on the scores, so the user can follow and record progress. The exams are timed with similar time-windows as the official IWCF exams. Exams and practices can be re-taken as many times as the candidate wishes.
As most people today have their own mobile phone within reach, this Well Control application will be a very useful “at hands” tool; whether you want to prepare for the bi-yearly exam or just want a good lookup tool when checking different WC issues out in the field.
